15 Free Quilt Patterns Using 10″ Pre-Cut Squares: Layer Cake Bundles!
If you’ve been looking for an easy project for yourself or a great gift idea for a friend, there is a free layer cake quilt pattern waiting for you. What’s a Layer Cake of fabric? It’s a bundle of 40 or 42 ten inch squares! These quilt designs are absolutely doable and worry-free – just make sure you don’t prewash the squares. That’s not necessary.
Precut fabric bundles are popular and accessible, especially for beginning sewists. They are not only precut, but they’re also perfectly coordinated. One thing I love is getting a peek at all the different prints in an entire fabric line. If you’ve got a stack of 10″ squares waiting for a project, you’ll find plenty of inspiration below

It’s a big quilt top too – a generous twin at 72” x 90”. Check out the free layer cake quilt pattern.
