Last Minute Halloween Treat Bags
Is it last minute for Halloween yet? I don’t think so really, it’s still a week away. Now when I stay up all night tonight after realizing that I need to sew one more outfit for Quilt Market (leaving tommorrow, eeek!), that will be last minute.
So making Halloween treat bags a week before Halloween is not last minute for me at all even though some might think it is. We have a really cute candy corn themed treat bag from No Big Dill in the Archives (the holiday love page), but since I wanted to use this darling Halloween fabric that a friend gave me, I chose to use the cute little Drawstring Bag tutorial from Threading My Way (archived on the crafty little things to make page).
Let me first say, Pam is a very neat and thorough sewist. Wow. Even the seams inside the lining are finished. Hat’s off to her for sure. Since I rushed my way through I must admit that I did not finish my seams (shame!).
And other than one other tiny thing, I followed the tutorial to the letter. That tiny thing was the drawstring casings. She tells you to sew a little tube (finishing the seam, lol) and then attach that to the outside of the bag. I decided to just press the edges of my casing strip under, pin it on, and stitch. Easy peasy.

Oh, they look adorable, Caroline. Halloween looks like it would be a lot of fun.
Thanks, Pam. Love your sewing style!
