Sewing some cute little wallets on the fly!

Yesterday I was in need of a thank you gift – quick! Luckily I had just been chatting on the phone with Heather of The Sewing Loft and she mentioned this little free pattern she recently released. It was perfect.

I pulled out some of my favorite scraps (these are Art Gallery Fabrics) and was seriously done in a flash.

I did change the pattern one tiny little bit. I added some pretty little snap clips on the side using 1/2” wide twill tape to make a tab. Can you tell what the twill tape says? It’s from a Kokka fabrics bundle. 🙂

The snap clips make it easy to hang these little wallets from a lanyard, keychain, or even your belt loop, lol. I made the lanyard in the top picture using the same technique as my Selvage Show Off Lanyard tutorial, except that this lanyard wasn’t made from a selvage so I folded the raw edges both to the inside.

So, what have you been sewing up this week? Did you make something with one of my free sewing tutorials or patterns? I would love to see! Tag me on Instagram @sewcanshe.

Happy Sewing!

  1. Lovely wallets. So fun to make something beautiful and fast sometimes.

  2. That is a great little wallet! I do like it with the little clip, too – very practical. This week I’m sharing two posts, both Halloween themed: a scrap string runner with applique and a FMQ spider web and pumpkin pattern. I had so much fun making them both! Thanks for hosting.
