DIY Video – How to Make Embroidery Thread Tassels!

| |

There is a DIY trend that I simply love… and I might be obsessed with – tassels! I made one for that cute pink and yellow Cross Body Zipper Tote {free pattern here}…

I sewed 8 on the points of my Quilted Tree Skirt

And I even put one on the zipper pull of my Vintage Inspired Train Case!

Watch the video above to see how I make DIY tassels!

I’ve made so many tassels lately and now I’m super excited to show you a fast and easy method of making them. You don’t need any fancy gadgets or even something to wrap the thread around because you will use thread that is already wrapped – skeins of embroidery thread!

What will you attach your no-hassle tassels to? Tell me in the comments. 🙂

xoxo,

What an ingenious way to avoid having to find something to wrap the floss on and then count the wraps so multiple tassels are the same. Thanks!

  2. WOW, that is a great way to make tassels! Thanks for sharing.

  3. I have alot of that cheap floss I got at a yard sale now I know what to make skin it thanks so much!

Adorable, where is the pattern for the little pouch you tied this to? Simply adorable.

  5. Maybe I’m blind? Where is the tutorial video for the tassels?

  6. Sorry, there is no arrow to click for the tutorial on making tassels.

  7. Sorry, Caroline, I tried to click on each photo, but I’m still not seeing a play button nor image identified as the video link for tassel making. I want to make four large tassels as finished touch for the four corners of a quilt top (and perhaps four more for a coordinating pillow), so I appreciate your instructions. I didn’t want to buy a "tassel and pom pom maker" at Wal-Mart for $9.95 just to make a few. THANKS!

  8. Thanks Caroline! Do you mean the vintage inspired train case? I don’t see a play button on that image at all. I’ve rolled my cursor all over it to see if maybe I just didn’t see it, but nothing comes from it.

  9. I could not find the play button anywhere on this blog page. However, I was so eager to watch this tutorial that I went to your Youtube page and found your video for the No-Hassle Tassels. This is such a great project!! I love it and I hope to make a number of them to add to my zipper bags/pouches and maybe some other projects. I already have the embroidery floss so I am now ready to go! Thanks for all your teaching and projects!

  10. Please redo the link so we call all watch and pin this project here.
