Uses for Handmade Baskets
Here are some of my favorite uses for handmade baskets:
- organizing thread and sewing notions
- organizing fat quarters or scraps
- holding stuffed animals and toys
- holding different kinds of snacks in the car for after school
- gifting to a neighbor or teacher filled with a loaf of bread and a jar of jam (or some homemade cookies)
- organizing bathroom items to keep your counter tidy
- displaying unique fabric in a useful way
- stuffing with candy or handmade treats to surprise someone who needs some love!
Perfect Rectangle Basket
This perfect rectangle basket has dressmaker’s boning in the corners to help it stand up even when empty! The patten website includes links to help you find all the supplies you need.
Sturdy Fabric Basket
Use this free pattern to sew a sturdy rectangle bin. The pattern includes instructions to make a bin of any size from 1 inch to 1000 inches. Make a set and love your space!
Easy Reversible Baskets
This easy fabric basket pattern is perfect for beginners. Sew a fabric bin to hold bits of fabric and thread, or to organize your desk. It’s made with 10″ fabric squares.
Fold Up Baskets from Fat Quarters
