The words ‘Janome Horizon Memory Craft’ are a tongue twister! Watch me blunder as I share an honest, non-paid video review of my sewing machine.

I unboxed my Janome Memory Craft 14000 sewing machine nearly a year ago. Now, a couple of very persistent readers are asking me to write a proper review. So here it is!

They say a photo is worth a thousand words. Well, my video review probably contains 100 thousand words. Once I start talking, it’s like I can’t stop! I think I shared way, way more information than most people want to know about this sewing machine, but it’s just the kind of review that I was looking for before I bought it. πŸ˜‰

Some of my favorite things about the Janome Memory Crafty 14000 are:

  • the needle threader

  • the 2 dual feed feet (wide and narrow)

  • the ‘favorite stitch’ setting

  • EMBROIDERY!

So I hope you enjoy my video review below…. please leave comment and let me know what you think!

By the way, I love this sewing machine so much, I put it on my list of the best sewing machines to buy on Amazon.

xoxo,

  1. Thank you for sharing. Many people are not familiar with the Janome brand. So enjoyed your review of the MC14,000. I have been a Janome owner since 1996 and love the machines. I own the new Janome 15,000 Quiltmaker and the features are much the same but have some newer ones added. Caroline you may not remember but I met you a few years back at the Lakeland Sewing Expo. It was so nice of you to meet us at lunch time. Thank you again and many more years of luck with your machine.

    1. Ginger – so sweet of you to say β€˜hi’! Hope you are doing well and sewing up a storm on your wonderful machine! πŸ˜‰

  2. I loved watching your thorough review of the MC14000. I have had the Janome 12000 for six years and still love it! Since this is your first embroidery machine, I wanted to point one a great advantage in the Janome design compared to other emb machines. Janome chose to put their embroidery arm to the BACK of the machine. I think this is brilliant because the foot-print of the embroidery unit extended is no wider than the sewing machine. All other manufacturers have designed their embroidery units to extend to the left of the sewing machine, making the foot-print wider, and wider, and wider! For those of us who have limited sewing table space, I can have a big, modern sewing/embroidery machine without taking up the width of the table space. Very clever and efficient!

    1. You are so right! I wish I had mentioned that in the video. I imagine that the embroidery units must also be removed when doing regular sewing – but we don’t have to! πŸ™‚

So enjoyed your review of the Janome must be wonderful to have the embroidery component

  4. I am sorry but i couldn’t hear this video. Thanks!

    1. Hi Helen,
Make sure that your device has the sound turned on. I can’t identify a problem with the video. πŸ™‚

  5. Thanks for this!! I have only had mine for a few months and am still in the learning stage. What type/brand of thread do you use?

    1. I use so many different brands of thread – more than I can count! Occasionally, a certain brand won’t run very smoothly or work in the automatic threader so I avoid those spools if I can. If I had to name favorite brands, I guess I’d say Superior, Metrosene, Aurifil, and Gutterman. Hope that helps!

  6. When you speak you must not turn your head towards the machine because it hard to understand all that you are saying. Trying to learn from you on using this machine since I purchased it from a store owner.
She sold this one and purchased a 15000. I will try some of your other videos. Thank you for sharing this with us.
