Earlier this year I was emailing back and forth with Nancy over at Free Spirit Fabrics to let them use some of my projects for their promotional materials and then out of the blue she invited me to participate in the launch of Valorie Wellsโ newest fabric collection – Enchanted!
I am super excited to be a part of their influencer tour, which will happen in March 2021, especially because they sent me a big beautiful box of Enchanted fabrics way before they will hit the stores. I know it sounds terribly selfish, but I love getting fabrics early before anyone else!
Now I get to use these fabrics to design a quilt pattern that Iโll share with you here on my blog.
The Enchanted fabric designs are inspired by a trip that Valorie trip to took to Marrakech. While in Morocco, Valerie did block printing with young ladies who were part of Project Soar. This organization empowers young girls who live in an environment that marginalizes them as adolescence and as women. Each morning, these young people would begin their day with words of affirmation, captured in the I Am and I Am Script fabric designs. Throughout this collection you can feel the vibrant colors and Moroccan influences of gardens, architecture, art, color and texture.
My sneak peek unboxing video should play in the video player within this blog post, but if it doesnโt you can find it on my YouTube channel here.
I hope you watch it and get excited with me as I discover these gorgeous fabrics! Then keep in touch with me here on the SewCanShe blog because Iโll be sharing more information about Enchanted, the other bloggers in the influencer tour, plus my free Enchanted inspired quilt pattern in Spring 2021. At my daughter Chloeโs high school (can you believe my baby started high school???), the lunch lines are so long that she has been skipping lunch! Sheโs always starving by the time she gets home because she doesnโt want to carry a big lunch bag as well as her heavy backpack – poor girl!

I am so in love with the beautiful look of simple patchwork quilts with lots of squares. This is the perfect way to use up fabric scraps like I did, or you can make a beautifully coordinated quilt with pre-cut 2 1/2โโ square fabric pieces that come in mini-charm packs.
Iโm also in love with the process. If you feel like quilt making is your escape from the world and sitting down to sew for a few hours makes your troubles fade awayโฆ this is the quilt for you!
