The Jumbo Hashtag Quilt {free pattern!}

Gray Frame Corner

Sew this fun, modern, and easy quilt in no time at all! I LOVE sewing jumbo quilt blocks. Big 18” quilt blocks like the one are so fast and easy to piece, and before you know it you have a huge quilt!

I quilted this quilt with easy wavy line quilting with my walking foot. Talk about fast and fun!

Are you ready to make a Jumbo Hashtag quilt? Let’s get to the pattern…

– 9 fat quarters (or 1/4 yard pieces) of different fabrics for the hashtags – 1 fat quarter (or 1/4 yard) of black print fabric for the setting squares (I used Pixie Dot Black) – 3 1/2 yards of white low-volume print fabric for the background and sashing (I used Pixie Dot White)

SEWING THE BLOCKS: For each hashtag block: 1. Arrange: – 2 background strips 5” x 13 1/2” – 1 background strip 3 1/2” x 13 1/2”

2.Cut the sewn block horizontally to make 2 sections that are 5” x 18 1/2” and 1 section that is 3 1/2” x 18 1/2”.

3.Arrange the two remaining 3 1/2” x 18 1/2” print strips (of the same print) between the cut sections as seen above. Stitch together. Press the seams toward the print fabric.

Sew 3 hashtag blocks with 2 sashing strips (5” x 18 1/2”) in between. Press the seams toward the sashing strips. Sew 3 sashing strips together with 2 corner stone squares in between. Sew the hashtag rows together with the long sashing strips in between.
