I’m so excited to show you how to sew this gorgeous cross body bag… it has pockets to spare and beautiful piping!

The finished size of this shoulder bag is approximately 9” tall, 11 1/2” wide at the top, and 2 1/2” deep at the bottom.

You will need:

– 3/4 yard of cotton fabric for the bag exterior and strap – 3/4 yard of cotton fabric for the interior lining and pocket linings – 1 yard of fusible fleece interfacing for the bag body, 20” wide (suggested: HeatnBond Fusible Fleece) – 1/2 yard medium weight fusible interfacing for the strap, 20” wide (suggested: Pellon SF101) – 1 package of Wrights Maxi Piping (or 2 yards of other piping with a seam allowance of 3/8” – 1/2”) – 3 YKK size 4.5 handbag zippers (9”, 12”, and 13”) or ByAnnie Zipper By the Yard – 2 rectangle rings, size 1’’ – 1 triglide slide, size 1’’

You will need 3 zippers for this bag project.

you will cut your zippers to the following lengths and remove the metal stops: – 12 3/4” – 9” – 12”

A professional finish is the 1 1/2” deep inset zipper. My techniques for both of these finishes are super-easy so I know you will get amazing results!

The best part about this bag is the piping that gives it a finished professional look.
