Kid’s Button Up Bolero: free pattern for fleece fabrics!
Iโm so excited to share this sweet little pattern I designed for fleece fabric. It’s a bolero jacket that folds together like fabric origami and is secured only with buttons. And since fleece doesn’t fray, you can choose to finish the edges or not.
On this pink Button Up Bolero, I finished the edges with hand-sewn blanket stitch.
This week I had NO TIME!!! so I made Cadie a little Button Up Bolero (with Heather Bailey’s Nicey Jane Fleece) and I finished the edges with the blanket stitch on my sewing machine.
I used heavy topstitching thread and increased the stitch length and width to as big as they would go. My sewing machine is pretty old. If you have a newer sewing machine, it might make a bigger, prettier blanket stitch.
