Pattern Review: The Mini Tulip Tote!
Isn’t this bag adorable? My friend Sarah who co-authored Just For You with me has finally released her first pattern and I’m so excited for her.
Here is my Mini Tulip Tote. I’ve had it for over a year (she took a long time to release this pattern!) and this little bag has gotten lots of use. For a while it was my designated ‘church bag’ because I love having a small purse that I can carry just a few things in.
But then I discovered that it was a perfect ‘grab and go’ camera bag. Now all of you professional photographers are going to freak out. There’s no room for extra lenses and the bag doesn’t zip up so if it tipped over, the camera would probably fall out.
BUT, I am not a professional photographer. I might take my camera out to photograph my kids at the park or the beach, but I don’t use it every day. I have a big padded camera bag, but it’s a pain to carry around and I never change lenses when I’m out anyway. I love carrying my DSLR camera in this little bag when I go somewhere. The stabilizer in this bag is By Annie’s Soft and Stable, which gives it a cushiony feel. The stabilizer is about 1/4” thick by itself, and the bag has lots of gathers for padding too.
I can even snap the magnetic snaps with my camera in the tote. ๐
But if your camera is larger than my Nikon D4100 you might not be able to.
Anyway, Sarah’s pattern instructions are clear and concise (her no-nonsense writing style was one of the reasons I wanted to write a book with her). She even shares how to make her adorable bag pockets. Love them!

The giveaway has now ended. Congrats to Kristen – who gets a copy of the pattern!
