It was time for a new Car Diddy Bag (this time for my car) and I was in an All-Star mood yesterday… so here it is!!!
Because I wrote the tutorial for my Car Diddy Bag almost 2 years ago, I had to go back and read it to remember how to make it, lol.
In case you didn’t recognize the fabrics immediately, I’ll tell you: they are the beautiful Tula Pink All Stars Coordinates. I am so in love with the colors here, and the fact that she included stripes and polkadots means that everything I make with them will be beautiful. Don’t you think?
I did make 2 small changes to the pattern this time. Since I want this to hang in the middle row of my car (behind one of the headrests), I made the strap adjustable with velcro.
I was sewing with a friend when I made it and I didn’t want to go out in the cold to measure the strap length to make sure it was right for the car, but she kept reminding me that I should, so I did. And I’m so glad! I would have gotten the length of the strap all wrong if I had just eye-balled it.
Now it fits perfectly – just the way I want it. I had originally planned this to be a little trash holder for my kids to use in the middle seat, but now I think it’s too pretty for trash!
Oh, and the other change that I made was I didn’t include the hidden pocket in the back. Because what do my kids need a hidden pocket for??? They don’t need to have secrets from mama. ๐

At my daughter Chloeโs high school (can you believe my baby started high school???), the lunch lines are so long that she has been skipping lunch! Sheโs always starving by the time she gets home because she doesnโt want to carry a big lunch bag as well as her heavy backpack – poor girl!

Iโm also in love with the process. If you feel like quilt making is your escape from the world and sitting down to sew for a few hours makes your troubles fade awayโฆ this is the quilt for you!
