If you’re looking for a quick sewing pattern that everyone can use, look no further. These pocket-style potholders are a beginner-friendly favorite because they require very little fabric but offer a huge “wow” factor. The pockets on the back don’t just protect your hands from the heat—they also makes these potholders feel like a high-end boutique find.
To get started, you just need a few 5-inch charms squares or leftover scraps from your last quilt. Bundle a pair with a wooden spoon and some gourmet cookie mix, and you’ve got a thoughtful, handmade gift ready to go! The finished size is approximately 11” x 8”, not including the hanging loop. You’ll use insulated batting to ensure that no one gets burned. These can also be used as a trivet to protect your surfaces.
