Sewing a Simple Linen Blouse – Pattern from Ottobre Design Magazine

This linen top is a new pattern in the 2/2015 issue of Ottobre Design. It’s the first thing I’ve sewn from this issue and I absolutely love it. I’ve never had a linen top before and I had no idea how cool and comfortable the fabric would be.

This week I finally got around to making myself something new for #memademay!

The fabric is a linen blend from The Fabric Market. ย It has a tiny bit of polyester which gives it a slight sheen and reduces the wrinkles a little.

The design of this top is really interesting. It’s meant to be a bit tight around the hips (the linen doesn’t stretch, mind you). At first that bothered me. But then I noticed how nicely the top draped and bloused above the hips. It’s perfect. There are also 3 pleats on the left shoulder. A very nice touch.

Have you ever tried to photograph yourself??? It’s not easy. LOL.

Anyway, have you noticed that ourย giveaway this weekย is also an issue of Ottobre Design Magazine? You have until Monday night to enter, don’t miss it!

So, what have you been sewing up this week? Did you make something with one of my free sewing tutorials or patterns? I would love to see! Tag me on Instagram @sewcanshe.
