10 Free Quilt Patterns For 5” Squares: Charm Bundles!

|

Here are ten free quilt patterns using pre-cut charm square fabric for fun and easy sewing. Some of the patterns also use layer cakes (10″ squares) or mini charm squares (2.5″ squares), but you can enjoy each free pattern over and over with each new bundle you buy.

You can save so much time by using pre-cut fabrics in your sewing. Not only are they perfectly sized, they are also nicely coordinated. I love buying pre-cut bundles and designing quilts with them. I’ve put some of my free quilt patterns here for you to enjoy too. Happy sewing!

All About Charm Square Bundles

Charm packs (bundles) are coordinated, pre-cut fabric bundles of 5″ squares. You can purchase various amounts of squares per bundle, but 42 pieces is pretty typical. I have seen packs that have 100 squares though, so it’s not hard to get what you need for your project.

For reference, 42 squares is just over half a yard of fabric. Depending on the size and design of your quilt, you can really make one pack work wonders.

Charm packs are a great way to get one or two pieces from each print in the collection without spending a fortune. Here’s where I often buy charm bundles when I shop for fabric online.
