It took me long enough, but I finally made something (two somethings!) out of the crazy quilit block that I stitched way back in April for our Crazy Quilt Sewalong. In {this post} I sewed it and in {this post} I embellished it with some of my sewing machine’s fancy stitches.
To tell the truth, I loved this 18” block so much, that I had a hard time deciding what to make with it. We have plenty of doll quilts hanging around.
It was my husband who suggested the tablet cover and the matching sunglass case and I love them! I used One Shabby Chic’s ipad tutorial {here} (modified to fit my tablet, of course) and Sweet Verbena’s Sunglass Case tutorial {here}. Because my block was already quilted, sewing them up was a snap. I totally recommend these projects if you have any pre-quilted blocks laying around.
Especially with gift giving time coming up
And it was totally unintentional, but these accessory items coordinate with the For Pleats Sake Tote I made myself last February!

I’m so excited to share with you the pattern for our first mini quilt of 2018… Flora! This beautiful little quilt was designed by the very talented Lauren of Molly & Mama…
At my daughter Chloe’s high school (can you believe my baby started high school???), the lunch lines are so long that she has been skipping lunch! She’s always starving by the time she gets home because she doesn’t want to carry a big lunch bag as well as her heavy backpack – poor girl!

I am so in love with the beautiful look of simple patchwork quilts with lots of squares. This is the perfect way to use up fabric scraps like I did, or you can make a beautifully coordinated quilt with pre-cut 2 1/2’’ square fabric pieces that come in mini-charm packs.
I’m also in love with the process. If you feel like quilt making is your escape from the world and sitting down to sew for a few hours makes your troubles fade away… this is the quilt for you!
Sew an easy beautiful apron with this free sewing pattern that only uses one yard of fabric! Whether you are sewing for yourself or for a friend, an apron always comes in handy and makes a great gift. This blog post includes a link to a free template that I digitized for you.

I finally got it done for you… all the testing and tweaking of a pattern to make the darling little coin pouch that we saw on Pinterest – but the photo instructions left so much to chance!
I love to have little sketchbooks or art journals handy for when inspiration strikes, so that’s what I decided to make. These little journals are so pretty that I’m sure they will inspire me all by themselves. Read on for a tutorial so you can make your own.
Those charm square fabric bundles that they keep next to the cash register are so tempting! How many do you have in your stash? Here’s the perfect quilt pattern to use up a charm square bundle – it’s easy and fast and you’ll need just 1 1/4 yards of background fabric to finish it up.
I LOVE this tutorial! It’s one of the most popular projects in our Flickr pool. I used it again this week so I could donate a few more handmade items to the little ‘Holiday Store’ that my boy’s elementary school…
