Sewing some pretty 2 sided zipper pouches from my free pattern

|

This week I got to play with some beautiful new fabric that’s coming soon from Anna Griffin. It’s called the Francis Collection and it will be available at a Hancock’s Fabric near you (hopefully)!

I used it to sew up three more 2 Sided Zips from the tutorial that I wrote last year. They are totally easy to make – don’t be afraid of the curved metal zipper!

In fact, my instructions show you how to install that zipper without ever sewing over the teeth – so go for a pretty metal zipper and add some bling to your pouch!

They are the perfect size for an iPhone 4 or 5, and there’s even a card pocket. So make a few 2 Sided Zips for gifts right now, it is Saturday after all!

So, what have you been sewing up this week? Did you make something with one of my free sewing tutorials or patterns? I would love to see! Tag me on Instagram @sewcanshe.

Happy Sewing,

Thank you–These would be great christmas presents, andI bet if you made them in denim or some other ‘male’ fabric. these would be prefect for them too!! so many possibilities. I do have a question though–do you have a preference in zippers, metal or nylon??

    1. Hi Susan,
This bag does not have a zipper. But in general – I use lots of handbag zippers (YKK size 4.5) and sometimes regular nylon dressmaking zippers. Metal zippers are fun but they are heavy, so the project must be heavy enough to support it (most bags and pouches are). I love invisible zippers but to this point have only used them on dresses. xoxo
