Yesterday I was in need of a thank you gift – quick! Luckily I had just been chatting on the phone with Heather of The Sewing Loft and she mentioned this little free pattern she recently released. It was perfect.
I pulled out some of my favorite scraps (these are Art Gallery Fabrics) and was seriously done in a flash.
I did change the pattern one tiny little bit. I added some pretty little snap clips on the side using 1/2” wide twill tape to make a tab. Can you tell what the twill tape says? It’s from a Kokka fabrics bundle. 🙂
The snap clips make it easy to hang these little wallets from a lanyard, keychain, or even your belt loop, lol. I made the lanyard in the top picture using the same technique as my Selvage Show Off Lanyard tutorial, except that this lanyard wasn’t made from a selvage so I folded the raw edges both to the inside.
So, what have you been sewing up this week? Did you make something with one of my free sewing tutorials or patterns? I would love to see! Tag me on Instagram @sewcanshe.

At my daughter Chloe’s high school (can you believe my baby started high school???), the lunch lines are so long that she has been skipping lunch! She’s always starving by the time she gets home because she doesn’t want to carry a big lunch bag as well as her heavy backpack – poor girl!

I’m also in love with the process. If you feel like quilt making is your escape from the world and sitting down to sew for a few hours makes your troubles fade away… this is the quilt for you!

I love this quilt. The idea for it came when I was researching different kinds of batting for hand quilting and different kinds of wool for needle felting. I thought, what if I used a beautiful wool and silk blend fiber for the batting? It’s called a ‘batt’ anyway. Isn’t this what they used before technology gave us modern batting?

Lovely wallets. So fun to make something beautiful and fast sometimes.
That is a great little wallet! I do like it with the little clip, too – very practical. This week I’m sharing two posts, both Halloween themed: a scrap string runner with applique and a FMQ spider web and pumpkin pattern. I had so much fun making them both! Thanks for hosting.
