Late for a Date Wonderland Piano Bench Cushion!

I’m so excited that my day on the Late for a Date Wonderland Blog Hop is finally here! I’ve been planning this special project for months now and it turned out so gorgeous I can hardly believe it.

So… I found this cute little piano bench at my favorite thrift store for only $15 and I couldn’t say no. In fact I snatched it up and carried it around with me while my family shopped! (we have a family thrifting outing about once a month, I love it.)

I’m using this little bench as extra seating in my sewing studio and the only thing it was missing was a handmade patchwork cushion, don’t you think?

The Wonderland Fabric from Blend was absolutely perfect for it. 

I used gridded interfacing to put the patchwork together faster (just like in my Craftsy Class Colorful Patchwork Bags and Baskets).

And my cushion is reversible with this gorgeous print on the underside. To be honest, I can’t decide which side I like best! I put ties on the corners so I can secure the cushion to the bench legs, but the ties look really cute tied like a tassel too.

I took pictures along the way and will post a tutorial soon… hopefully Monday! Then you can make your own Patchwork Piano Bench Cushion and use it on any kind of a bench… or just toss it on the floor for watching TV.
