Sew Cute Quilted Desk Cups!
This week I received a darling bundle from Penny Rose Fabrics…
All these delightful fabrics from Heidi Staples first collection… Five & Dime! Each print is so nostalgic and sweet… in nostalgic colors too.
I am dreaming of the quilt that I will make with these fabrics. Maybe it will be Heidi’s Storefront Quilt – she’s offering the pattern for free here.
But in the meantime I cut little rectangles off the corners of each piece and stitched up some Pixie Cups from Heidi’s free tutorial on her blog Fabricmutt.
Get the free Pixie Cups pattern here.
This free tutorial is a great way to practice sewing a rectangle to a circle because it won’t matter much if your seam’s not perfect.
You can find Five & Dime fabrics on Etsy… so grab some while you can!
Now I just want to brag about one more little thing… look at this sweet calculator pouch that Heidi designed for me to put in my new book Crafty Little Things to Sew. Isn’t it the cutest? And it’s the perfect size for holding a medium sized device like a mini iPad or Kindle. Crafty Little Things to Sew is coming out in October, but it’s available for pre-order now. 🙂
Alright… I shared a cute little project that I worked on this week. What have you been working on? Did you make something with one of my free sewing tutorials or patterns? I would love to see! Tag me on Instagram @sewcanshe.
