1 Minute No-Sew DIY Infinity Scarf {Video Tutorial}

Don’t you just love how a scarf can polish off your outfit and you hardly did a thing? The best way to wear a scarf is to forget it’s there. Like, hello, this just grew on me. He he.

Well, a couple weeks ago I had a scarf emergency.

I was about to leave for church with my kids and my dress was kinda plain and really needed something to spiffy it up. I found a scarf in my closet that would have been perfect except that it didn’t match. It actually clashed with my dress.

This is it – a gauzy polyester scarf that’s long and soft. I love it so much that almost wore it anyway, even though it clashed!

My mom gave it to me.

I had 5 minutes tops before we had to leave so I rushed upstairs to see what I could figure out.

I was blessed with pure inspiration that day (probably because it was Sunday, lol) and I ended up making this soft and beautiful double gauze cotton scarf with no sewing and in practically no time at all!

 

And it only took 1/2 yard! I was using Cotton & Steel double gauze fabric from RJR, but lots of companies are making beautiful double gauze fabrics now, so it’s not hard to find.

What you have to do involves separating the two layers within the fabric.

I worried that you wouldn’t believe me about how easy it is – or that you’d be afraid that you were damaging your fabric, so I made a video – see it above!

I just adore the soft and light feel of double gauze fabric (especially after the layers have been separated) and I am totally in love with the crinkly, thread-covered texture of the infinity scarves that I made.
