A Christmas Tree Skirt Pattern You’ll Sew and Love!
Sew this Christmas Tree Skirt Pattern now, and you’ll treasure it forever!
Because of crazy college schedules and nutty family stuff, I got married just a few days before Christmas (December 22nd – sheesh!). And my birthday is a week before Christmas. You would think that with my birthday, anniversary, and Christmas going on in the same week I might try to tone down Christmas. But it’s actually the opposite – I LOVE Christmas! And I love to sew in anticipation of this glorious holiday all year long too! But to be honest, I have found that I NEED to get my holiday sewing started early because if I wait until December it’s far too late to get much done.
That’s why I’m so excited that when Craftsy asked me to collaborate with them on a Quilted Tree Skirt pattern, they planned it to release now – just as all the beautiful holiday fabrics are hitting the shops and you still have time to sew the best Christmas ever, right??? Well, it was released today!!! I’m so excited that my new video class from Craftsy is here and it’s a Christmas tree skirt pattern!
And I won’t be shy about one other thing… this class is a HUGE bargain! Because of what Christmas means to me (read more about that here), I poured all my love into this project and designed the most beautiful tree skirt I could imagine.
I know you don’t have time to waste, so I used easy strip piecing with pre-cut 2 1/2” strips (jelly roll strips!) and I provide a template for cutting the star blades from sewn strip sets. Don’t worry, I share tips along the way to help you easily make every seam line up so that it looks like you spent hours painstakingly piecing every little fabric. Make sure you keep the actual time spent on it a secret! 🙂
Make your holiday tree skirt complete with cute button closures and these no-hassle tassels that I will show you how to make with ordinary skeins of embroidery floss! Or put jingle bells on the star points – wouldn’t that be fun?
The class materials include complete instructions, the star blade template, plus a coloring page to help you explore every design possibility.
If I were to sell this Christmas tree skirt pattern myself I would ask at least $12 for the pattern alone, maybe more. But Craftsy packaged it all together with 4 high quality video lessons, lifetime access, instructor interaction (from me!), and a money-back guarantee. All for only $10.

Let me know if you have any questions. I can’t wait to see all the tree skirts that you sew, so please post pictures of on the Craftsy platform.
Seeing pictures of your Patchwork Bags and Baskets (my other Craftsy class) brings me such delight!

Caroline, your "Christmas" tree skirt is gorgeous! The tassels on the points are the perfect touch, although jingle bells would be awesome too! Thank you for the super deal of offering 1/2 price…I think I’ll use mine as a table topper with a pretty centerpiece in the middle. I love this!
Thank you! A table topper is a great idea. I will use an extra one for just that purpose!
This is wonderful! I want to make a tree skirt for my newly married daughter. I already purchased the class. You’re right about it being a total bargain. Now I will have you helping me through this project. Thank you.
Yay! Thanks so much. xoxo
Just ordered the class. Getting fabrics together as I speak. Beautiful pattern. Can’t wait to see if it is as easy as it looks. Am all about that.
Hi Jewell! Thanks so much. I’m sure you’ll find it a breeze! But be sure to let us know. 🙂 xoxo
I can’t get the coupon to apply.
The coupon will be applied to your cart if you click through the link above, but you still need to add the class to the cart in order to see the savings. It’s a weird system, but it works! xoxo
Just want to add my delight with Caroline’s wonderful tree skirt class! I made mine over a year ago (it’s for an autumn-themed tree) and had enough leftovers to make a matching potholder, plus (with coordinating charm squares) a table runner, mug mag, & some coasters. Caroline’s cheerful, clear teaching style gave me the confidence to tackle my first "big" project, and many pretty things since. Get this class — you won’t regret it! 😀
Thank you Chelcie! I’m so glad you enjoyed the class and it inspired you to make so many pretty things! xoxo
I just found your site! I made this exact tree skirt last Christmas and it was so easy and FUN!! Now I’m working on a throw for my oldest granddaughter for her engagement and couldn’t find a quick easy quilt design until I found this page!! I’m gonna give this one a shot!!
Can you let us know what fabrics you used? I want to make this for next year!
I purchased those fabrics from the old Craftsy, which went out of business this summer. The new Craftsy does not sell fabrics. Sorry.
First, I made this tree skirt this year for my son and his wife in their new house. I hope they enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed making it!
And I feel your anniversary pain! For reasons similar to yours, we got married on Dec 27th. Beautiful time to get married but a horrible time for an anniversary. It’s now 35 years and I think the only year we truly celebrated was the first one.
Is there a written version of the tutorial? Unfortunately I’m not a visual learn and videos tend to frustrate me.
The Craftsy Class includes a downloadable PDF with the template and all of the instructions.
