We’ve had some amazing designers contribute to our free mini quilt pattern series, so if you’re just joining us now you can find all of our previous mini quilts on my Mini Quilt Pinterest Board.
The pattern for this adorable mini quilt (including the applique templates) is free so you can sew it up with all your favorite scrap fabrics!
When I was sewing my Halloween mini quilt, I had all these triangle scraps left over after making the 8 flying geese units.
I don’t know about you, but I have a REALLY hard time throwing away triangles!
So really quick I chain pieced them into 16 black and white half square triangles.
Then I pieced them into a mini-mini-quilt to go along with Kitten’s Halloween Party!
What do you think? Are you as scrap-crazy as I am to sew all those little triangles together to make half square triangles? If you are, how would you sew the half square triangles together? I’m not a mathematician, but I bet there are millions of different combinations.

Be a basketmaker! Sure, you can sew, but did you know that you can make amazing baskets too using your sewing machine, some fabric and the same materials that you use for your other projects?
Have you fallen in love with Quilt as You Go yet? It’s a fun technique for quilts, of course, but I’m having lots of fun using it for pouches and tote bags too.
I’m so excited to share with you the pattern for our first mini quilt of 2018… Flora! This beautiful little quilt was designed by the very talented Lauren of Molly & Mama…
At my daughter Chloe’s high school (can you believe my baby started high school???), the lunch lines are so long that she has been skipping lunch! She’s always starving by the time she gets home because she doesn’t want to carry a big lunch bag as well as her heavy backpack – poor girl!
Looking for free table runner patterns? I gathered up all my favorites in one place – here are free quilt patterns for table runners for fall, winter, spring and summer!
I am so in love with the beautiful look of simple patchwork quilts with lots of squares. This is the perfect way to use up fabric scraps like I did, or you can make a beautifully coordinated quilt with pre-cut 2 1/2’’ square fabric pieces that come in mini-charm packs.
I’m also in love with the process. If you feel like quilt making is your escape from the world and sitting down to sew for a few hours makes your troubles fade away… this is the quilt for you!
Sew an easy beautiful apron with this free sewing pattern that only uses one yard of fabric! Whether you are sewing for yourself or for a friend, an apron always comes in handy and makes a great gift. This blog post includes a link to a free template that I digitized for you.

Christmas pajama pants are probably the most common tradition, don’t you think? If you are lucky enough to have people to sew for, make them some P.J. Pants for Christmas this year! The free pattern that I used is super fast to sew so it can even be a very last minute gift.
Sew the scrappiest quilt ever using your smallest scraps and a roll of calculator receipt paper! I first saw this idea on Pinterest and I didn’t believe it could be done until I tried it myself. Here’s a free tutorial…
It’s Saturday again (already???) and I don’t have very much to show off this week. My Juki is having brain surgery and I haven’t had the heart to sew very much without her.
My little Cadie is about to turn 4 and go to preschool this year, so I ordered her a new backpack from our darling sponsor Heather of the Sewing Loft. Heather is an amazing sewist and couldn’t believe I was…
Oh my gosh…this is so darn cute. It really speaks to the Halloween junkie in me!
LOL!!! Thanks for another fun pattern.
