How to Sew Machine Embroidered Sunglasses Case (free In The Hoop project)
All that’s required to make this beautiful sunglasses case (or glasses case) is a few supplies and an embroidery machine with a 5×7 or larger hoop! You’ll love the fast and easy (and free) in the hoop (ITH) embroidery design that is customizeable with fabric, thread, and even different embroidery designs.
A few months ago I collaborated with Hatch Embroidery to make this fun in-the-hoop project for their blog.
I used Hatch Embroidery Digitizer to create the pattern, and then I made a video showing how to use the same software to change the design using any of the many fills that are included.
For this project, I used a few scraps of fabric for the exterior and the lining plus quilt batting scraps to give each case some cushioning.
My Janome 14000 Sewing and Embroidery machine that I bought from Sewing Machines Plus made sewing these sunglasses cases a breeze – as you can see, I couldn’t stop.
If your embroidery machine has a 5×7 hoop, then you can make these! Just visit the Hatch blog for the free design.
Happy embroidering,

Thank you for the adorable project! I can hardly wait to give this a try. I have never attempted an in the hoop project, but I am going to give this a try. The instructions were so simple and easy to follow. I am so excited about this project!!
Thank you again Caroline!!
I am desperately trying to find the tutorial on the sunglasses case. I have downloaded my project but I cannot find the instructions. Please Help
Hi Wendy, Please check inside the download folder that you received from the Hatch blog. There is a file called Hatch_SunglassesCase_Instructions.pdf. That’s it!
I don’t have Hatch. I have Bernina V8.2. Is the Hatch compatible to the Bernina software?
