Quilt Market Chat about my Sample Spree bust!

Hello from Houston! Iโ€™m in this beautiful city attending Quilt Market. Yesterday was day 1 (Friday) and after I attended my friend Heatherโ€™s AMAZING class about Patents, Trademarks, and Copyright as they apply to the quilting industry, we got to attend Schoolhouse –

Tula Pink!

Tula Pink!

which is where we get to attend busy 15-50 minute sessions all day long where various designers, authors, and fabric companies get to show us all their new stuff.

Then comes my favorite part: SAMPLE SPREE! Okay it used to be my favorite part. This year it was practically a bust!

Sample Spree is where Quilt Market attendees (who are primarily quilt shop owners) get the chance to purchase the new fabric, patterns, thread, and notions that may not be officially for sale for months after that.

Itโ€™s always really exciting to me because itโ€™s my only chance to get the newest collections of my favorite designersโ€™ fabrics – way before they hit the stores!

But this year I was so totally let down. I even made a video to tell you about it.

The video should play in the box below if you just click on it. But if it doesnโ€™t work for you, I also uploaded it to YouTube.

So yeah. I did get some good stuff yesterday, but only the big thread box was from Sample Spreeโ€ฆ

I even got some surprise items that I had to buy in the gift shop, lol. Can you guess what those items were?

Wish me luck that I can get a big bundle of Tula Pink fabric tomorrow. I came to Houston with a half empty suitcase because I thought I would fill it up with fabric. I donโ€™t want to go home with only 3 fat quarters!

xoxo,
