Tips for Measuring Your Dog for Any Sewing Pattern

1. Use a measuring tape to measure the neck, chest, length, and girth.

  • Neck: Measure around the base of your dogโ€™s neck where the collar would sit.
  • Chest: Measure the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.
  • Length: Measure from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.
  • Girth: Measure around the widest part of the belly.

2. Ensure your dog is standing still and in a natural position, and avoid pulling the measuring tape too tight. This can cause inaccurate measurements on humans and animals!

3. Repeat each measurement a couple of times to ensure consistency.
