Make perfect 2’’ half square triangles for your quilt blocks every time using my free printable HST paper!

Half square triangles (or HSTs) are a basic building block for lots of traditional and modern quilts. They are very easy to make (here’s my favorite way to make half square triangles if I don’t want to use HST paper), but it can sometimes be tricky to get all of your HST’s the exact same size and with the seam exactly down the middle.

When I want my HSTs to be absolutely perfect, I use HST paper!

Check this out…

I’m going to show you how to print your own half square triangle paper templates and make 8 perfect half square triangles with just two 6’’ squares of fabric.

I’ll even tell you where to buy the perfect paper for only $1!

After this, you might decide use half square triangles to design your own adorable quilt like my Summer Snowflake Quilt (free pattern).

Lately I’ve been sewing up little 2’’ HSTs using scraps of fabric that are 6’’ square or larger whenever I get bored.

Wouldn’t a whole quilt of pink and white half square triangles look darling?

Everything you need to know to make perfect 2’’ half square triangles is in the video tutorial above. Just click the ‘play’ button on the image to watch. If for some reason that doesn’t work, this video is also on my YouTube channel.
