Ever since I heard about it, I’ve been so excited to get my hands on Jennifer Heynen’s new book Sew Small: 19 little bags, and it’s finally here! Jennifer is the super adorable and talented artist otherwise known as Jennifer Jangles. If you stitched up our Mini Quilt of the Month last month then you already know this because she designed it. 🙂
Whether people were surprised or not, The Quilt Design Coloring Workbook was a runaway smash hit at QuiltCon. The bookseller that attended and hosted a book signing literally ran out of books during the book signing – they were all sold (that’s why Thomas had to give me his own personal copy)!
Get ready for me to design lots of modern quilts for you!!! Okay, mostly mini quilts probably because I hardly ever finish my big quilts (UFO’s much?), lol!

I must admit… ever since I had to miss Quilt Market last weekend, I’ve felt lacking for inspiration in the quiltmaking department. I needed something to give me that boost of creative energy and get me going again. And then look what I got in the mail from Fat Quarter Shop: the Scrappy Project Planner by Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet!
Those of you who have been reading my blog for a long time know that I take irons seriously. This little-mentioned (but hard working) appliance can make your sewing time fun and productive or frustrating and unproductive (i.e. ruined fabric).
This week I sewed like a crazy woman and finished up two last minute Halloween costumes. And I was the donut! How did this happen – the first Halloween costume that I ever sewed for myself?
