20 Free Basket Patterns that are Fast and Easy! (sewing for days)

20 free basket patterns-2.jpg

Organize your space with fabric baskets… sewing them is fast and easy! Here are my 20 favorite free fabric basket sewing patterns and sewing tutorials. A handmade basket makes the perfect gift too – whether you fill it with something else or not.

Here are some of my favorite uses for handmade baskets:

  • organizing thread and sewing notions
  • use as a fabric box for fat quarters or scraps
  • bigger baskets can hold stuffed animals and toys
  • place different kinds of snacks inside and keep in the car for after school
  • fill with a loaf of bread and a jar of jam (or some homemade cookies) to give to a neighbor or teacher
  • organize bathroom items to keep your counter tidy
  • stuff with candy or handmade treats to surprise someone who needs some love!

And… if Easter is just around the corner: don’t turn down the chance to make your own Easter gift baskets. If you’ve noticed them lining store shelves lately, you have seen that just about any container can pass for an Easter basket these days. So why not sew a cute basket that your kid or grandkid can use to organize their bedroom later?

Here are my 20 favorite free DIY Fabric Basket patterns:
