Sew Modern: 16 Free Quilt Patterns With a Contemporary Twist

I LOVE modern quilts! Sew them, quilt them, gift them, keep them… there will never be enough! Here are some of my very favorite modern quilt patterns that are all free.

Modern quilts offer new perspectives on traditional quilting. Sometimes, they incorporate contemporary design principles while using traditional block patterns. Other times, they show us fresh new block patterns that weren’t used by quilters in the past.

One characteristic of all of these free modern quilt patterns is that they are easy to sew. So pull out your favorite fabrics and let’s make a modern quilt!
