Free Butterfly Applique Pattern

So here’s our design this month. I wanted to share with you some butterflies like the one that I put on my butterfly quilt (except that one is huge, lol!). I was inspired to sew a butterfly when I imagined her wings filled with my favorite scrappy prints.

Guess what! Now I also have a mini version of this free butterfly applique pattern too.
As usual, I used HeatnBond fusible web to trace, cut, and fuse my butterflies using several different fabrics.
Then I sewed them on using rayon embroidery thread and straight stitching. The cute little butterfly bodies needed more shine so I stitched back and forth a bit. 🙂
The little butterfly applique pattern is so adorable… she’s only 1 3/4” across. The larger one is 6 1/2”. If someone appliques a whole field of butterflies, they must let me know!
