It seems like everywhere I go I see versions of Erin’s Get Carded wallet. On blogs, instagram, even right here in my own Show Off Saturday Linky Parties! I was hesitating because I thought there would be lots of pieces, lots of itty bitty parts to sew, and I just didn’t have time. Boy was I wrong!
One of my favorite things about this book is that it has tips on how the let your kids help with the creating on each project as well as a section that teaches YOU how to have FUN sewing with children.
I am so crazy about this quilt my friend Sarah made and posted to our last Show Off Saturday Linky Party. Isn’t it gorgeous? Evidently lots of other people loved it too because it was the most clicked photo in the party.

A few weeks ago I wrote about my new Juki 2010Q (that I LOVE) and in my review I only had a few very minor complaints. One of those was weird lighting. The led light on my sewing machine is very bright, but it is to the left of the needle, so it casts strange shadows like this:
Check out this beautiful laptop bag I made! I’m so stinkin’ proud of it. When Anna of charmedLiebling asked me if I’d like to review one of her patterns, it was hard to pick only one until I fell in love with the shape of this bag. The outer fabric is from a piece I’ve been saving for a while now. I also have my table-top ironing board, sewing chair, and cupboard doors covered in it {see here}. Now whenever I travel with my laptop, I’ll have a bit of my studio coming with me.
I love this knit skirt sewing pattern! It is so easy to make… took about 15 minutes to sew on my serger (not that you need one – any zig-zag sewing machine is fine) and I adore that easy fit style with a wide waistband. I’m saving those pattern pieces so I can make more skirts plus the cute little shorts and maybe even the culottes.
My husband sleeps with an iPhone under his pillow which sometimes migrates around the bed and even worse, can get stolen by little hands. Yes, we have early risers in our house and the youngest who is only four has been known to sneak in at 5 am, steal daddy’s iPhone from under his pillow, and use it to play video games while he sleeps past his alarm (which she turned off because it interrupted her game!).
I’m so excited to show off something fun today… my new Juki 2010Q! I first tried this machine over a year ago at Quilt Market 2012. I was impressed, but at the time I wasn’t quilting very much and my Bernina 1530 had everything I thought I could ever want in a sewing machine.
The whole idea behind Never Been Stitched by Amanda Carestio is projects that require little or no sewing. I love it because these quick projects can be whipped up in one session!
