Free Applique Patterns from SewCanShe

Here’s the fourth design in my SewCanShe Applique of the month club. I’m having so much fun bringing them to you and you can find them all in my (all free) Craftsy shop . I’m calling these designs my ‘Far Away Forest’ Collection because they were inspired by  Russian folk tales.

This design is a fox, but she is definitely a girl. She likes to hide in the grass and watch the silly boy fox jump over rocks and things. There is also a sweet and simple tree and a lovely matryoshka.

Love! Yes, I am so in love with my little matryoshka. She is the third in my set of 6 applique designs called ‘Far Away Forest’ that are inspired by Russian folk tales. There are three more coming, but this one is my favorite.

Many of you traditional sewists who do practically perfect satin stitch embroidery around your applique pieces are going to cringe at this. I apologize in advance. Sometimes I like satin-stitch. Sometimes I like to use a neat straight stitch going carefully around…
