Every Free Sewing Pattern SewCanShe Released in 2025: Full Recap
Did you miss any of the new free sewing patterns I released in 2025? It’s hard to believe February is right here, and there were so many exciting and beautiful quilt patterns, bag patterns, and more that we sewed since last Valentine’s Day! It was a busy year for me, not only spending time in the sewing room, but writing lists of my favorite sewing patterns to pass on to you. I also spent time building our sewing community where we can give each other ideas and share what we’ve been working on.
Of course, I have always loved sewing patterns made for any season, but some of the ones from last year were my all-time favorites. I passed on everything from quilt patterns to totes and bags to gift ideas. The year’s list ended up having something for everyone, from beginners to expert sewists, with budget-friendly patterns as well as more costly projects that could easily become family heirlooms. So, I have brought back every single new pattern I introduced in 2025 here. I hope you enjoy!
Quick Note: My PDF Patterns
Every free sewing pattern in this recap is available for purchase as an instant PDF download. You can still see all the instructions and photos for free (and even print it off the screen using ctrl+p), but the PDF file contains all of the instructions, plus the step by step photos that have been reduced to fit the page nicely with no ads.
Download the file immediately and keep your confirmation email so you can download it again later. Unlimited downloads are available from the confirmation email. I love having my patterns saved as a PDF because it means I can print a fresh copy to mark up in my sewing room or just keep it open on my tablet while I work.
Fall Festival Patchwork Table Runner

The Maple Leaf quilt block is a classic and popular pattern, especially for fall-themed projects. In Florida there aren’t a lot of leaves that change color because palms and pine are always green, but I do love the colors of fall.
With my new fall table runner I wanted to capture the sense of calm and cozy for my table. I also love to be frugal, so I made this table runner from a single charm pack!
DIY Purse – Upcycle Make Up Bag

I found this boxy makeup bag in the checkout aisle at TJMaxx. It was a total impulse buy, but I got it knowing that I already had the perfect purse handles at home. I bought the handles a year or so ago thinking that I might use them on my one-yard Boxy Zipper Bag – but I ended up using different handles for that.
It was such a fast project that I was able to take my new purse out-of-town to the H&H Americas Craft Trade Show. If you want to see how easy it is to make your own purse, I wrote a DIY purse tutorial with links, tips, and photos.
Adorable Christmas Tree Treat Bags

I designed these treat bags for the time of year when you want hostess gifts, treats for classmates, or a nice acknowledgement for all the people who provide service throughout the year. There’s nothing wrong with store-bought plastic treat bags, but there’s something sweeter about a nice hand sewn element. These pretty treat bags popped in my mind as I was sorting through my Christmas scraps.
Christmas Nutcracker

The Nutcrackers are here! I’ve started noticing adorable Christmas nutcrackers appearing in everyone’s holiday decorations and decided that I needed a few of these guys in my home too. He made an adorable table decoration and brought cheer to my dining room all season long!
Chubby Card Pouch

I designed this chubby card pouch to be a great project for craft fairs and Christmas gifts. Fabric scraps or cotton fat quarters are perfect for this project. If you are already a fan of bags and pouches with foam stabilizer, this is a great way to use up scraps… you may already have some quilted pieces that you can use!
Charm Patch Quilt Pattern

I try to design quilt patterns for all the different pre-cut fabric bundles so that all my readers can enjoy pretty and useful patterns for free. This easy quilt pattern uses 81 charm squares, so you’ll need 2 charm packs. If you don’t have any charm packs on hand, this is a great way to use up fabric scraps from your scrap bin!
Jelly Roll Kisses

I created Jelly Roll Kisses from two rolls of fabric that I had displayed in my sewing room for a LONG time. I was so excited when the inspiration came and I could finally give this glorious fabric a purpose. If you’ve got a couple jelly rolls (or a stash of 2 1/2” strips) just waiting for the perfect project, then this is it!
Card Tricks 3 Yard Quilt

I don’t usually design quilts with lots of green, but that was part of my goal with this free 3 yard quilt pattern. The classic card trick quilt block is modern and fun in this easy throw quilt that requires just three yards of fabric!
Granny Square Fat Quarter Quilt

I get excited about gorgeous stacks of fabric; using my fat quarters makes me feel like I’m digging for treasure! This free and fat quarter friendly quilt pattern uses 11 fat quarters (pre-cut 18” x 21” pieces of fabric) and 3 3/4 yards of background fabric to make a generous 71” x 71” throw quilt.
Queen Size Quilt – New Traditions

Large scale patchwork is a fast way to finish piecing a quilt top. These larger triangles aren’t complicated, but the design still turns out so pretty! You can also sew a quick and easy queen size quilt with big triangles that form gorgeous stars. This 84” x 84” quilt could be your first quilt, it’s that easy!
Little Kisses Fat Quarter Quilt

I enjoy designing quilts that are simple to sew, but have a surprisingly pretty appeal. Nine squares are a simple quilt block, but you can tilt them and combine them to make endless patterns. That’s one of the things I love about quilting; the limitless variety and personality that you can find in a design.
You’ll love the simple design of this quilt that is fat quarter and beginner friendly!
Twirling Blossoms

I used fat quarters and scraps of pink and blue Liberty Tana Lawn fabric for this pretty quilt pattern. I love how soft and silky it turned out. I kept it on my couch for a couple weeks until one of my friends wanted it so badly that I gave it to her. It was so fun and rewarding for me to design and sew this quilt! I think it looks like a scary design to sew, but it’s worth it to try new techniques!
Falling Spools

I still get a bit of anxiety over choosing fabrics that will properly compliment my designs and give the outcome I want. I have put a lot of time into training my eye, however, and I’m really happy when my ideas finish just right.
This quilt pattern includes a single ‘Falling Spools’ quilt block. Your main ‘focus fabric’ in the center can make the blocks really pop, and the coordinating or darker fabric will make a secondary pinwheel pattern in the background.
My First Three Yard Quilt

This is not actually my first 3 yard quilt, but I designed it to be simple enough for a beginner sewist, and interesting enough for you veterans. My son has always loved dinosaurs so when I saw this fabric I was hooked; especially because it’s so pretty!!
I used the fussy cut method to frame the fearsome beasts and I love the result. You can enjoy this free throw quilt pattern to fussy cut (or not) and frame up some of your favorite fabric.
Spitfire!

I created the Spitfire 3 yard quilt to have a bold, dynamic look with simple cutting and piecing. I’ve broken down every step to be super clear, so there’s no confusion. I think the best thing about using just three fabrics is that it keeps the project manageable while still giving you a gorgeous, high-impact result.
Holiday Sparkle

I named this 3 yard quilt Holiday Sparkle because I created it just before the holiday season and I love creating quilts that appear to shimmer like stars. Of course, this pattern is fun to sew any time of the year and with so many different fabrics. I didn’t use special holiday themed fabrics – just my favorite shades of pink!
Looking Ahead

As much as I’ve enjoyed looking back at everything I designed, I’m even more excited about what’s coming next. My 2026 calendar is already filling up with new ideas and designs that will be fun, functional, and pretty of course! Let’s quilt all kinds of things and add beautiful texture
I have been thrilled with the participation in our new sewing community! I really feel connected and I love seeing new friendships emerge. Thank you for being part of my creative journey—I’m so glad you’re here as we dive into a brand-new year of sewing and learning together.
